Sustainability Strategy for the Regional Film Archives of England
We were commissioned by Screen Yorkshire on behalf of the BFI to develop the Sustainability Strategy for the Regional Film Archives (RFAs) of England. This involved working with the nine RFAs and bringing together all the key stakeholders to agree a common route forward.
Key components of the project included:
- Review of new exploitation routes for regional film archives
- Recommendation of new operating model, restructuring and short- and long-term opportunities
- Bringing together to build consensus on forward strategies – senior executives from the BFI, Arts Council England, Creative England, Heritage Lottery Fund, BBC, The National Archives and Technology Strategy Board
We succeeded in getting archives higher up UK government and film policy agendas – as evidenced in DCMS Film Policy Review 2012 and BFI Strategy Film Forever 2012.
