Jugglit
The cross-media discovery application for smartphones, tablets, computers, and connected TVs
Imagine a personal media advisor; someone who helps you discover entertainment content, explains its context and learns your interests.
Using Jugglit you will be able to enjoy the explosion of audiovisual content, as you explore a personalised journey of film, music, still images, e-books and editorial.
Media discovery and consumption habits are in revolution. Multi-screen viewing habits and ‘social TV’ behaviours are no longer the preserve of technophile early adopters. Consumers are starting to create their own journeys across rich content and media types and to move seamlessly across multiple platforms.
Jugglit is designed to help them make those cross-media, cross-content journeys a simple, integrated experience.
Jugglit will interlink, contextualise and personalise content, allowing consumers to discover, purchase and access media content on smartphones, tablets, computers, and connected TVs.
Jugglit is being developed through the InterestingStuff+ (IS+) project, which will show:
- how journeys for end users across digital and real-world touchpoints through content and experiences that are selected, associated and grouped in ways that makes sense to them have higher perceived value
- these journeys, monetise the added value and redistribute revenues to partners to incentivise the necessary changes to business processes and ways of working.
Jugglit aims to have a beta service delivering integrated content by the end of 2012 and consortium members intend to take the solution to market from summer 2013.
The IS+ consortium is led by content personalisation specialists Idio with convergent media innovators Golant Media Ventures and partners, Guardian News & Media, metadata specialists Decibel, user experience house Ribot, picture library Bridgeman Art Library and software integration experts, Bow Tie Television. It builds upon the learnings and technologies developed through the FAROE prototype.
The consortium was successful in winning funding for the project from the Technology Strategy Board under their Collaboration Across Digital Industries funding call. The consortium partners match this public funding with their own resources.
